Abstract:
In this study, the effect of rice husks treatment with enzymatic extracts produced with Pleurotus ostreatus grew in different culture media were evaluated. Four extracts were selected for the rice husks treatments, after establishing the change on laccases activities in 16 SDY (Sabouraud Dextrose Yeast extract) culture media, which were added lignocellulose compounds: carboxymethylcellulose (CMC), xylose and lignin, and also copper sulfate through a full factorial design. The results showed P. ostreatus produced extracts rich in laccase in culture media with copper that was benefited by the addition of CMC and Xylose, while in culture media with lignin or copper- lignin, the enzymatic extracts produced by the fungus were of low laccases activities. The compositional analyzes and the FTIR spectra of the rice husks treated with these enzymatic extracts showed little change in the percentage and chemical composition in rice husks; however, important changes which could be related to the structure of were observed. These results showed how laccase activity and the types of laccase enzymes can be modified in P. ostreatus cultures media, and the influence of these enzymes on rice husks pretreatment. These findings represent a systematic strategy for the production of enzymatic cocktails to biomass lignocellulosic pretreatment.
