Abstract:
AMPTS (Automatic Methane Potential Test System) from BIOProcess Control (Sweden) is an easy to handle laboratory automatic device for Methane potential tests using the same protocols as BMP (Biochemical Methane Potential). Biogas and Methane volumetric flows measurements, kinetics calculation, productivity rate are automatically generated on standard data sheets. Fifteen simultaneous comparative trials in 500ML continuous or sequenced stirred bio-reactors placed in a heated water bath are monitored with a biogas or methane flow rate measurement capability from 0.4 mL/h to 10 L/h with 2% accuracy. Carbon dioxide and methane flows and biogas composition can be measured by carbon dioxide absorption in a sodium hydroxide solution.
