Abstract:
With the present work, the microwave-assisted catalytic decomposition of lignocellulosic residues using the example of rice straw is described. It could be demonstrated that there is an increased solubility of the input materials. The enzymatic accessibility of solid residues could be increased by a dissolving of the lignin fraction and increasing the inner surface. The temperature range of about 180°C showed as a distinctive range of changes. Above a temperature of 180°C more fermentation inhibitors were formed. A high proportion of organic acids could be registered. Microwave technique has a great potential for building energy effective processes.
