Abstract:

The usage of residua al waters for obtaining biogas represents a relatively new approach in Romania nowadays. In this context, experime ental investigations are needed in order to establish the pot tential for this type of materials using anaerobic fermentattion. The present work underlines the possibility of using residual waters from local sources for testing their potentiial in anaerobic fermentation process for biogas production. . The paper focuses on the parallel experiments connected with determining the main process parameters for two ddifferent batches, one containing residual water from treatmment plant and the other one containing a mixture with 90 %% residual water from treatment plant and 10 % cow whey y (all % by mass). The test conditions are pre­established an nd the used installation is a pilot built inside the Laboratory of renewable energy resources, of the Politehnica University y Timisoara.
