Abstract:
Phosphorus is known as one of three major elements of fertilizer, essential substance for agriculture, and resource which is concerned about the depletion in the near future. Thus, it is important to establish the phosphorus recycling system. To confirm gasification characteristics of organics including phosphorus under hydrothermal condition, adenosine triphosphate (ATP) disodium salt hydrate was employed as model compound in this study. About 50 % of carbon gasification efficiency could be confirmed after 40 s of hydrothermal treatment at 400 oC. The gasification rate constant was determined to be 4.49×10-2/s. Main component of the product gas was carbon monoxide, and its composition increased with residence time and temperature. Mineralization of organic phosphorus resulted in phosphate ion in liquid phase.
