Abstract:
A four-module biomass-refinery plant is being planned to be built on the ITP site in Poznan-Strzeszyn. It will be composed of four major biomass processing techniques – anaerobic digestion, pyrolysis (gasification), transesterification, fermentation. The aim of integrating various technologies in one place is to reduce the cost of producing biofuels, heat, electric energy and various valuable products. The latest knowledge concerning the biomass conversion techniques will be implemented into this experimental biomass refinery plant including various biomass pre-treatment techniques to enhance biogas, syngas, energy and fuels yield, as well as post-treatment sophisticated techniques for producing goods just entering the market like compressed biohydrogen, liquified biomethane or electric energy produced by fuel cells including Solid Oxide Fuel Cell.
