Abstract:
Energy production from microalgal biomass was performed by supercritical water gasification. We conducted experiment using oil removed algal cell and original microalgae which contained 20 wt% of oil as the comparison. In this study, gasification efficiency and ratio of produced syngas under 600 oC, 25 MPa with different reaction time were elucidated. During its decomposition, some reaction had taken place from the cell macromolecules into liquid, solid and gas product that was mainly syngas (H2 and CO). De-oiled algae gave clearly lower CH4 yield. The ratio of CO/(CO+CO2) is decreasing with time, showing approach to the equilibrium.
