Abstract:
In this research the idea of multicomponent, in one-vessel syngas cleaning through dedusting and simultaneous adsorption is described. Data presented was obtained with use of a pilot scale 60kWt fixed bed GazEla reactor, coupled with dry gas cleaning unit where raw syngas, at 500-650°C, is connected with sorbents before reaching a dedicated ceramic hot gas filter. The research presents results of application of 4 calcined sorbents ie.: chalk (CaO), dolomite (MgO-CaO), halloysite (AlO-MgO-FeO) and kaolinite (AlO-MgO) for high-temperature (HT) adsorption of impurities from process gas produced through gasification of biomass. Moreover, an emphasis on data regarding filtration process are provided due to the fact that addition of coating and co-filtering materials is often necessary for keeping stable filtration of syngas in industrial applications.
