Abstract:
Rare earth elements (REE) are essential in our modern society. They are vital raw materials for applications of new clean technologies such as electric cars, solar energy and wind power. The main REE deposits are located unevenly over the earth crust because about 96% of the known deposits are located in China. This fact and the realisation of the principles of circular economy requires the utilisation of secondary resources for REE recovery.
