Abstract:
We have utilized shredded pine needles for air blown gasification at two different altitudes- 1,391 ft and 10,006 ft m asl with different air densities. A dip in the performance to 2/3rd was noticed at 10,006 ft. This is evident by higher fuel consumption and specific gasification rate and lower specific gas production rate. The data presented here is of utmost importance for designing CHP strategies based on gasification of pine needles in remote areas.
