Abstract:
Supercritical water gasification is a promising technology to convert biomass with moisture content higher than 80 %. Nitrogen in the feedstock biomass should be also converted into small molecules, and its recovery is useful for energy and nutrition. However, decomposition rate of nitrogen containing compound in supercritical water has not been elucidated. In this study, we studied the decomposition characteristics of glycine in supercritical water to produce ammonia.
