Abstract:
Subject of this paper is the characterization of two different horse manure substrates and their pyrolysis products. Examined substrates were horse manure (HM) contaminated with polyurethane plastic particles from an indoor riding area (”contaminated HM”) and horse manure from horse boxes without any anthropogenic contaminants (“normal HM”). Pyrolysis product distributions were determined and, in addition, the higher heating values (HHV) for both the horse manure substrates as well as the gaseous and solid products were calculated.
