Abstract:
To stop global warming, all sectors must become climate neutral. Also sectors which can not be electrified directly must be connected to electricity sector. Especially in avition, maritime transport and chemical industries this is not directly possible. Power to Liquid (PtL) is one possible sector coupling technology. Also biogenic ressources can be used for this purpose. In this paper the different boundary conditions of both pathes will be discussed. At the end a clear priosiation for the use of synthetic fuels as well as bigenic ressources is nessecary reach global climate goals and to keep the sustainable developement goals (SDG). The possibilities of a planned production of PtL in a demonstration plant in Lusatia are presented. In addition, an overview of the emerging demand and the resources needed to meet it is shown.
