Abstract:
This study evaluates the integration of Green Hydrogen Technologies (GH2T) within the structure of a real refinery, considering their expected development and contributes in terms of decarbonization. Specifically, the aim is to analyze the possibility of converting hydrogen production from natural gas to renewable hydrogen. The case study is a refinery of West Andalusia, in which a consistent part of fossil carbon emissions comes from hydrogen production. The profile of hydrogen production and demand for the refinery is compared with the potential production through electricity excess from VRE plants and available biomass in the region.
