Abstract:
Defossilisation of the heating and cooling sectors is essential since these sectors are responsible for almost half of the final energy consumed in Europe. Renewable heating and cooling technologies not only help Europe reach its decarbonisation targets but also foster energy security by enabling the production of clean heating and cooling solutions with energy sovereignty, even in remote areas. To support renewable heating and cooling stakeholders and help Europe maintain its competitive advantage in this area, the European Technology and Innovation Platform on Renewable Heating and Cooling (RHC-ETIP) serves as a platform that brings together and supports various renewable heating and cooling technologies.
