Abstract:
In a context of climate change with heavy effects on the stability of agricultural systems, integration with tree-lined systems agroforestry can improve the resilience of agricultural crops. This integration on a mechanical point of view, made an impossibility to use a traditional machinery if the layout is not properly applied. Nonetheless, this integration is arousing a lot of interest in the scientific community, and little is known about how these tree-lined systems can affect the mechanical operations of the crop cycle. At the CREA-IT experimental farm, was applied a new agroforestry concept based on the conversion of an “Medium Rotation Forestry” (MRF) poplar plantation for bio-energy production.
