Abstract:
An analytical procedure for determination of methyl chloride in producer gas has been developed. The method has been successfully applied to producer gasses from both updraft and low temperature circulating fluid bed (LT-CFB) gasifiers fuelled with different feed stocks. The study was extended in order to gain more details regarding the underlying reactions. The results will be discussed in view of the consequences for the end-use of the producer gas and general aspects of possible reduction methods of the methyl chloride concentrations will be considered.
