Abstract:
Supercritical water gasification (SCWG) of alanine was studied in a tubular flow reactor which has the inside diameter of 2.17 mm and the length of 12 m. The experiments were carried out at 500-650 oC, 25 MPa for residence times of 86-119 s and was compared with the gasification characteristic with our previous work for glycine. The results showed that the increase of temperature enhanced the gasification efficiency and that the gasification rate followed the first order kinetics. The gasification rate of alanine was identical to that of glycine.
